You know a restaurant is a good when the locals eat there, and that is especially true of Louisiana seafood. Don’s Seafood has set the standard for authentic Cajun cuisine for 80 years, and their family owned and operated business has thrived for 4 generations.
Don Landry opened the original Don’s in 1934 in downtown Lafayette, with the simple vision of serving patrons fresh seafood, Cajun flavors and classic drinks. The business has grown to include 7 locations across south Louisiana, but Don’s vision has remained the driving direction of the restaurant.
Each individual restaurant features warm Acadian decor, and offers a full-service bar and grill with an open charbroiler, where patrons can enjoy watching the chefs work their magic.
The extensive seafood and Cajun menu hits every high point of Louisiana fare, with dishes including Catfish Acadian, Zydeco Shrimp, Don’s Cajun Shrimp Pasta, and a variety of steak cuts, to name a few. And of course, no visit is complete without an order of Don’s original Jacked Up Oysters, which is composed of a dozen charbroiled oysters with bacon, jalapeños and pepper jack cheese. They also serve crawfish in season, and their bar is stocked with Louisiana ingredients and favorite recipes.
Don’s Seafood is the perfect south Louisiana dining landmark, whether you’re passing through or a local. Stop by one of their locations and connect with the real flavors of Louisiana.
